About this opportunity
The University of Texas (UT) System is conducting a 2024 GPO Accreditation Program to identify and accredit group purchasing organizations (GPOs), including Texas state agencies performing GPO functions, that can provide GPO services to UT System and its institutions. Organizations that fail to secure or maintain this accreditation, or that decline to participate, will not be used by UT System for GPO services. To apply for accreditation, applicants must first secure a nomination from one or more UT System chief procurement officers, supported by information demonstrating that the nominee meets the required "value component test." The deadline for submitting accreditation application materials is 3 pm Austin time on August 1, 2024. The accreditation standards include requirements for established provider status, open bid policy, competitive procurement, "best value" evaluation criteria, contract management, diversity and inclusion programs, compliance with federal procurement standards, and transparent practices. Accredited GPOs must notify UT System of any material changes, and UT System retains the right to audit accredited entities to ensure ongoing compliance with the program's minimum standards.
Before applying for accreditation, eligible GPO applicants must secure a nomination from one or more chief procurement officers of UT System institutions, supported by information indicating that the nominee meets the required "value component test" as detailed in the Operating Procedures. The 2024 GPO Accreditation Program covers the jurisdictions of Travis County and the City of Austin, Texas. Organizations that fail to secure or maintain this accreditation, or that decline to participate in the accreditation process, will not be used by UT System or its institutions for GPO services. There is no information provided regarding possible award values or budget ranges.
