About this opportunity
The City of Richmond in Macomb County, Michigan, is soliciting bids for a 2024 Building Demolition project (Contract 2024-D-1) involving the complete demolition of a single residential property located at 69271 N. Forest Avenue. The procurement requires comprehensive site restoration and utility abandonment, with utility termination to be handled by respective utility owners prior to demolition. Specific project deliverables include full structure removal, site clearing, and meticulous asbestos-containing material handling in strict compliance with state and federal regulations. Bids will be received until 10:30 a.m. on February 4, 2025, with a tentative contract award date of March 3, 2025, and a project completion deadline of June 15, 2025. Bidders must obtain documents through the Michigan Inter-Governmental Trade Network (MITN) and prepare comprehensive proposals addressing all demolition specifications, including the removal of 15 linear feet of window glaze and 575 square feet of asbestos-containing floor tile.
The City of Richmond demonstrates a commitment to inclusive procurement by encouraging bids from minority and female-owned organizations. Bidders will be evaluated on a lump sum contract basis, with the city reserving the right to accept or reject any proposals. While a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the project will be funded through municipal sources and requires contractors to demonstrate comprehensive capabilities in demolition, site restoration, and hazardous material handling. The procurement does not indicate any specific set-aside designations beyond the encouragement of minority business participation. Contractors must possess appropriate licensing, insurance, and expertise in urban demolition projects, with a particular emphasis on safe and environmentally compliant asbestos abatement. All bidding organizations must be prepared to fully document their approach to site clearing, structure demolition, and post-demolition restoration in accordance with the detailed project specifications.
