About this opportunity

The Redding Board of Education (BOE) for Easton, Redding & Region 9 Schools is seeking qualified architectural firms to provide design and enhancement services for specific learning spaces at Redding Elementary School and John Read Middle School in Redding, Connecticut. The procurement is a Request for Proposal (RFP) focused on furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) design rather than significant structural renovations. Specific design areas include the Grade 2 Wing, Kindergarten Wing, and Library at Redding Elementary School, as well as the library and community room at John Read Middle School. The RFP was issued on November 4, 2022, with a submission deadline of December 6, 2022, at 5:00 PM EST. A mandatory pre-bid tour is scheduled for November 16, 2022, and interested vendors must notify Jason McKinnon (jmckinnon@er9.org) to attend. The vendor question and answer period runs from November 4 to November 23, 2022, providing an opportunity for potential respondents to seek clarification on the project specifications.

The RFP does not specify any set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the documentation, and there are no details about existing infrastructure or technology that would require integration. The solicitation is open to all qualified architectural firms, with payment terms to be specified by the vendor. The RFP does not provide an estimated total value for the contract or indicate a specific budget range for the design services. Two supporting documents are included with the RFP: "Redding BoE RFP for Architectural and Design Services.pdf" and "Redding RFP v2 Addendum for Architectural and Design Services.pdf," which likely contain additional details about the project requirements and expectations.
