About this opportunity

The State of Maine is requesting bids for production and distribution of the 2011 Parent's Guide to Childhood Immunizations, with bids due June 28, 2011. The contract includes performance-based pricing with provisions for extensions and quantity overruns.

Maine's procurement policy on wood and paper products applies to this solicitation. Bidders must specify the percentage of post-consumer recycled fiber content and certified virgin fiber content for proposed materials, with certification from recognized third-party organizations including the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), American Tree Farm System (ATFS), or Master Logger Certification Program (MLCP). Each bid submission must include proof of the supplier's chain of custody certification and identify certification labels applied to each paper product. The State will award contracts based in part on the percentage of recycled or certified content and may pay a price premium of up to 4% above the lowest bid to achieve 100% post-consumer recycled or certified virgin fiber content. If no bids meet the 100% threshold, Maine will award preference to paper with the highest percentage of recycled or certified fiber content, provided the product price does not exceed 4% above the lowest submitted bid price.

All bids must include the RFQ number, vendor name, contact person, phone number, and detailed fiber content percentages for each product category. Bid submissions must follow the conditions and instructions to bidders contained in the attached procedural documents.
