About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on a 175 horsepower Mercury outboard motor, with bids due March 10, 2008. In case of tie bids with equivalent price, quality, availability, and other factors, awards will be given to in-state bidders or those with products manufactured in Maine.
The motor is a V-6 with 2,507 cubic centimeters displacement, maximum operating RPM of 5,250–5,750, water cooling, electric starting, power trim and tilt, remote steering, and SmartCraft technology integration. It features a 1.87:1 gear ratio with forward, neutral, and reverse; electronic multipoint oil injection; two-stage direct fuel injection; dry weight of 431 pounds; 25-inch shaft length; overheat and low oil level warning; two-year manufacturer warranty; CARB 2-star emissions rating; 60-amp alternator providing 756 watts; and counter-rotation capability as an optional feature. The motor requires Mercury OptiMax/DFI Engine Oil.
Bidders must submit separate unit prices through the state's secure electronic system. The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids and award on an item-by-item or group basis as in the best interest of Maine. Award will be based on best value, including quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost to the state. Unit prices govern in cases of discrepancy with total prices. All transportation charges must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Bidders must exclude Federal and Maine State Sales and Use taxes from quotes. Cash discounts for payments within 20 days or more will be considered; prompt payment discounts under 20 days will not. The Division may increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10 percent. Assignment, subletting, or transfer of contracts is prohibited without written Director consent.
No contract value, quantity, delivery date, or incumbent is identified in the source materials.
