About this opportunity

Walthall County Board of Supervisors, Mississippi, is soliciting sealed or electronic bids to purchase or lease-purchase new or unused solid waste collection trucks, with bids due today, November 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The notice is issued under Section 31-7-13(n), Mississippi Code of 1972 Annotated, and carries no set-aside, preference, or local-vendor restriction. The jurisdiction tag lists Wayne County (FIPS 28153), while the notice names Walthall County as the issuing body.

Bids may be submitted in sealed envelopes or electronically through www.centralbidding.com. Specifications are available from the Walthall County Purchase Clerk at 200 Ball Avenue, Tylertown, Mississippi, during regular business hours. Acceptable vendors will be invited to submit priced bids by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, followed by a final electronic reverse auction on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at centralbidding.com. The County reserves the right to use anti-sniping, which extends the auction by five minutes when a vendor bids within the final five minutes. An in-person bid option is available at the Board's regular meeting room.

The Board will evaluate proposals on a lowest and best bid basis, considering delivery date, service, vendor experience and performance, buy-back options, transportation and operating costs, quality, maintenance, and warranty. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and will officially award at its meeting on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, or as soon thereafter as reasonably possible. The contract runs from award through the First Monday in January 2031. The County intends to pay in installments or cash, with payment made after the first Monday of the month following delivery, provided delivery occurs on or before the twenty-fifth of that month. The agreement will include an annual allocation dependency clause as required by Mississippi Code Section 31-7-10(8).
