About this opportunity
The County of San Mateo is seeking qualified vendors to provide veterinary supplies through Request for Quotation (RFQ) 1614, with bids due by May 13, 2025. This procurement opportunity is designed to establish a three-year contract for the supply of veterinary materials and related products. Vendors must meet specific minimum requirements, including maintaining an account representative as a primary point of contact and a backup contact to ensure responsive service. The successful vendor will be required to provide detailed reporting capabilities, including monthly, quarterly, and yearly usage reports that document frequency by department, cost totals per department, and grand total orders. Critical performance expectations include a maximum delivery time of three (3) business days after receipt of order (ARO). The procurement will result in a County of San Mateo Vendor Agreement that allows departments to order items directly from the selected supplier, with items to be procured on an as-needed basis throughout the contract term.
While the solicitation documents do not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises, vendors should be prepared to demonstrate comprehensive capabilities in supplying veterinary supplies. The contract appears to be open to qualified vendors who can meet the county's operational and reporting requirements. Although no specific budget range is mentioned in the available documentation, the three-year contract duration suggests a potentially significant procurement opportunity for the selected vendor. The geographic scope encompasses San Mateo County, with potential peripheral involvement from San Bernardino City, indicating a regional procurement approach. Prospective bidders should carefully review the full RFQ documentation to ensure complete compliance with all technical specifications and administrative requirements for submission.
