About this opportunity
Jones County School District in Mississippi is requesting proposals for design and installation of intercom and communication systems at three high schools—Northeast Jones, South Jones, and West Jones—with sealed bids due July 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a mandatory site walkthrough scheduled for June 23, 2026.
The scope is a turnkey solution encompassing speakers, administrative terminals, call boxes, cabling, mounting hardware, network connectivity, licensing, installation, documentation, technical assistance, and staff training. Systems must support administrative-to-classroom communication, provide programmable bell schedules, and deliver emergency alert capability for fire drills, tornado drills, lockdowns, and other emergency notifications across classrooms, hallways, common areas, gymnasiums, cafeterias, and select exterior locations. All systems and materials must be new unless otherwise approved in writing by the district. The vendor is responsible for permits, inspections, approvals, daily cleanup, and repair of any installation damage at no additional cost to the district.
Work must comply with applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations. The anticipated project start is July 8, 2026, with target completion August 31, 2026.
Proposals must include itemized pricing with projected installation timeline, company profile demonstrating years of K-12 experience, at least three comparable school installation references, equipment specifications, warranty information, ongoing maintenance and support options, a training plan, proof of insurance, and applicable certifications. The district will evaluate proposals on overall project cost, equipment quality and reliability, vendor K-12 experience, system scalability and expandability, warranty and support services, installation timeline, references, and specification compliance.
Questions are due June 30, 2026. The district reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, negotiate equipment specifications, and request additional information as needed.
