About this opportunity
The State of Maine is requesting quotes for 1,230 200-pound kegs of 5/8" × 6" cut track spikes conforming to AREMA Chapter 5 Part 2 specifications, with quotes due August 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time via electronic submission through the AdvantageME Vendor Self Service system.
Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item, with all prices stated in the quantities specified and delivered to destination, including all trade or quantity discounts. Transportation charges, freight, and express costs are prepaid and at the contractor's expense. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State sales and use taxes, and quotes should exclude these taxes. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in determining the low bidder; discounts under 20 days will not be considered.
Questions must be submitted through the Q&A portal within the AdvantageME VSS system up to 24 hours prior to bid closing, with responses posted in the same location. Vendors are responsible for monitoring the portal for updates. Supporting documentation and literature may be submitted by fax or mail prior to bid opening.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value to the State, with consideration given to quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. The State reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities and technicalities, and increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%. Payment may be remitted by check, electronic funds transfer, or procurement card; under Maine statute 9-A MRSA 8-303(2), vendors are prohibited from imposing surcharges on credit or debit card transactions in lieu of cash or check payments. In case of contractor default, the State reserves the right to procure materials from alternate sources and charge excess costs to the contractor, though the contractor shall not be liable for delays arising from strikes, fires, acts of God, or causes beyond reasonable control.
