About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting bids for a one-year contract to supply springs and chassis parts for the Maine Department of Transportation Fleet Services and all using state agencies, with bids due March 26, 2008.
The scope covers approximately 150+ line items of suspension and chassis components organized by NIGP commodity code 06084, including bolts, brackets, bushings, springs (front, rear, helper, and overload varieties), pins, rods, shackles, studs, washers, and specialized suspension hardware cross-referenced to vehicle manufacturers including International, Volvo, Ford, Sterling, Freightliner, and Mack. All items must be first-grade material of domestic origin, conforming to commercial standards and equal to or superior to original manufacturer specifications. The awarded vendor must maintain full-time field service personnel, supply fresh stock, and allow credit for obsolete stock purchased during the contract period.
The estimated annual contract value is $75,000 to $100,000, though actual value depends on quantities ordered by state agencies. The contract period runs approximately April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2009. Delivery is required within one day of order receipt for standard orders or three to five days for special orders to six regional MDOT facilities located in Caribou, Bangor, Skowhegan, Scarborough, Dixfield, and Augusta. All pricing shall be net, including prepaid transportation on an FOB Destination basis, with prices remaining firm throughout the contract period. The State accepts procurement cards with no surcharges allowed, and the State reserves the right to cancel with thirty days' written notice or immediately for non-conformance. Willingness to extend contract pricing to Maine political subdivisions and school districts will be considered in award evaluation. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value, considering quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in bid evaluation.
