About this opportunity
The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT), through the State of Maine Division of Purchases, is soliciting bids for a one-year contract to supply hydraulic hose and stems to state agencies, with bids due September 15, 2009. The state currently uses Parker Manufacturing products; alternative manufacturers may be considered, but if awarded, the bidder must replace all crimping machines statewide at no additional cost to the state.
The scope comprises over 120 line items of hydraulic hose and stem assemblies in sizes ranging from 1/8 inch to 1 1/4 inches, with connection types including JIC, BSP, MP, FS-LOK, and ferrule fittings, plus bulk hydraulic hose in 1/4 inch through 1 inch sizes and specialty items such as non-conductive and push-lok stems. Delivery is required to approximately 100 MaineDOT facilities throughout Maine, from York to Madawaska. The contractor must maintain full-time field service personnel and provide fresh stock only. Pricing must be firm for the entire contract duration and include all transportation charges on an F.O.B. Destination basis. The state requires vendors to accept the Maine Procurement Card as payment with no surcharges, and pricing must be identical regardless of payment method.
The estimated contract value is $50,000, though actual purchases may be higher or lower depending on agency demand. Orders of $5,000 or less will be emailed directly to the vendor; larger orders will be processed through the Division of Purchases' AdvantageME system. Invoices should be submitted electronically in PDF format when possible. The contractor must extend contract pricing to Maine political subdivisions and school districts upon request.
Bidders must submit current catalogs (approximately 11 copies, electronic format preferred) and a completed spreadsheet with net pricing. Only submissions received with these documents will be considered. The state reserves the right to cancel the contract with thirty days' written notice or immediately for non-compliance. Questions should be directed to Terry DeMerchant, Procurement Manager, at the Division of Purchases.
