About this opportunity
The State of Maine, Division of Purchases, is requesting bids on hydraulic hose and stems for a one-year contract with bids due October 16, 2009. The Maine Department of Transportation is the primary user, with delivery required to approximately 100 DOT facilities and 76 fleet stockroom locations statewide.
The scope covers over 140 line items of stem-hose assemblies, bulk hydraulic hose, and reusable stem components in sizes ranging from 1/4 inch to 1 1/4 inch, with multiple connection types including JIC swivel, male/female pipe thread, British Standard Pipe (BSP), flange, and FS-LOK configurations. Bidders must submit pricing on the detailed spreadsheet using prescribed forms or electronic means and must provide approximately 11 catalogs for distribution to using agencies. All pricing must remain firm for the full contract duration and include transportation charges on an F.O.B. Destination basis. The State currently uses Parker Manufacturing products; if a non-Parker product is awarded, the vendor must replace all crimping machines statewide at no additional charge.
The estimated contract value is $50,000 (non-binding). Awards will be made on the basis of individual items or groups as the State deems in its best interest, with awards to the lowest responsible bidder considering best value. The contractor must maintain full-time field service personnel, supply fresh stock only, provide credit for obsolete inventory, accept the State of Maine Procurement Card as payment with no surcharges, and extend contract pricing to Maine political subdivisions and school districts. Delivery orders under $5,000 will be emailed directly to vendors; larger orders will be processed through the Division of Purchases' workflow system. The State reserves the right to cancel the contract with thirty days' written notice or immediately for non-compliance. All submissions must be electronic to the Division of Purchases in Augusta, with late submissions rejected.
