About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids for automotive bearings to supply the Maine Department of Transportation Motor Transport Division and all state agencies under a one-year contract, with bids due March 21, 2011. The contract encompasses approximately 150 bearing items across manufacturers including KOYO, Timken, Fafnir, SKF, AMI, and BCA, plus any additional bearing products ordered during the contract term.
All items must be first-grade material of domestic origin, equal to or superior to original manufacturer specifications. Delivery is required within seven days of order receipt and is a consideration factor in award. The contractor must maintain full-time field service personnel and supply fresh stock only. Pricing must be submitted on a firm, net basis including all transportation and delivery charges on an F.O.B. Destination basis, with no fuel surcharges permitted. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in lowest-bidder calculations.
The estimated contract value is $10,000, though actual value will depend on quantities ordered by state agencies during the contract term. The State of Maine requires acceptance of the Procurement Card as a payment method with no surcharges allowed regardless of payment method.
Place of performance spans 95 distinct fleet stockroom locations throughout Maine, organized regionally with the primary hub at 45 Commerce Drive in Augusta and administrative oversight at 105 Capital Street, Augusta. Locations include stationary stockrooms, mobile service units, and specialized maintenance facilities across northern, central, and southern Maine.
Award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder offering best value, with consideration given to product quality, conformity, delivery dates, and overall economy. The State reserves the right to extend the contract beyond one year with mutual consent or cancel with thirty days' written notice. Preference in tie-bid resolution is given to in-state bidders or those providing Maine-manufactured products or services.
