About this opportunity

The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) is requesting bids for fire and life safety systems inspections, maintenance, and repairs across its tollway system serving Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties, with bids due August 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CT and a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visits on August 4–5, 2026.

The contractor must hold current Texas State Fire Marshal Office Certificates of Registration for Alarm, Sprinkler, and Extinguisher operations and maintain a service or dispatch location within the specified North Texas counties. A small business subcontracting goal has been established (percentage not specified).

The scope encompasses annual inspections, testing, and certification of fire alarm systems at seven locations; wet sprinkler systems at six locations; dry sprinkler systems at one location; biannual inspections of preaction systems; annual inspections of approximately 400+ fire extinguishers at nine locations; antifreeze system inspections; and backflow prevention device inspections on fire risers. The contractor must also provide 24/7 monthly fire alarm monitoring through a UL-listed central station and maintain emergency on-call services available 24/7 with two-hour response time.

The contract term is three years. Pricing is structured per-location for fire alarm inspections, per-riser or per-system for sprinkler and backflow inspections, and per-unit for fire extinguisher inspections. Bidders must submit separate hourly rates for standard business hours (8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday), overtime/Saturday hours (not to exceed 1.5 times standard rate), and holiday/Sunday rates (not to exceed 2 times standard rate). Travel, fuel, mobilization, and vehicle expenses for scheduled preventive maintenance are included in the per-unit rate with no separate trip charges permitted.

The bid question deadline is August 7, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. CT. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; NTTA reserves the right to award to multiple vendors and to reject any or all bids. Estimated award notification is within 60 to 180 days of bid submission.
