About this opportunity
The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking applications from state and local government entities and tribes located in the Columbia-Pacific Northwest Region for its Water Conservation Field Services Program funding opportunity. Eligible applicants must have authority over one or more Bureau of Reclamation projects and may apply for awards between $0-50,000 requiring 50% minimum cost share to support water management and conservation planning, system optimization reviews, designing water management improvements, or demonstrating conservation project technologies. Applications will be evaluated based on association with Reclamation projects, furthering water conservation goals, and supporting climate resilience and underserved communities, and are due by February 29, 2024 for projects to be completed between October 2024 to September 2026.
Approximately $250,000 in total funding is available to support an estimated 5-8 projects through financial assistance awards. Successful applicants will use award funds to conduct eligible activities within the Columbia-Pacific Northwest Region, which includes the states of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, to advance the goals of ensuring water supply reliability, improving efficiency, and mitigating potential conflicts over water resources in the Western United States.
Synopsis
This Funding Opportunity's objective is to invite eligible applicants located in the geographic area covered by Reclamation's Columbia-Pacific Northwest Region to leverage their money and resources by cost-sharing water conservation planning with Reclamation to make more efficient use of existing water supplies.
