About this opportunity

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applicants for the USAID Primary Health Care Improvement Program (UPHIP) in Nigeria. The UPHIP aims to build a more effective, resilient, and responsive primary healthcare system that can adapt to the changing needs of the Nigerian population and support the Government of Nigeria's Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Plan. The program has five key components: effective models of primary healthcare delivery, community engagement, subnational and facility management, systems integration and interoperability, and resilient health systems and services. The application process involves a concept video submission, oral presentations, and a full application, with the anticipated award timeline being October 2024 to March 2025.

USAID plans to issue one or more renewal cooperative agreement awards with an anticipated total period of performance of five years, across two phases (initial and renewal). USAID plans to provide up to $40 million in total funding, with up to $24 million for the initial three-year period and up to $16 million for the two-year renewal period.
