About this opportunity
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is soliciting applications for remaining funds under the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program with an application deadline of November 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Eligible applicants are restricted to Tribal Governments, Tribal Colleges or Universities, the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands on behalf of Native Hawaiian communities, Tribal organizations, and Alaska Native Corporations. No cost share is required.
Up to $540 million remains available. The program allocates up to $500,000 to each Federally Recognized Tribe that has not previously received TBCP funding to ensure equitable distribution. Applicants may pursue either Broadband Infrastructure Deployment Projects (funding range $1 million to $25 million for single applicants) or Broadband Use and Adoption Projects (funding range $500,000 to $2.5 million for single applicants), but not both. Awards are anticipated beginning Spring 2027 on a rolling basis. Recipients have four years to expend funds with an 18-month commitment deadline.
Performance occurs on Tribal Lands or supporting remote learning, telework, or telehealth resources serving Native communities. Merit review prioritizes applications that support the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program deployments and applies a 0–100 point objective scoring system. The review process includes Initial Eligibility and Administrative Review, Merit Review, and Programmatic Review. Infrastructure projects must include GIS shapefiles, network diagrams, and network sustainability plans. Administrative costs are capped at 2 percent of award amount. Recipients must comply with Build America Buy America domestic content preferences, environmental and historic preservation standards, cybersecurity best practices, and uniform federal requirements under 2 CFR Part 200. Pre-award costs up to 5 percent of award amount (maximum $50,000) may be recoverable if incurred after NOFO publication and before award issuance.
Applications are submitted through Grants.gov, email, or mail. The CFDA number is 11.029.
