About this opportunity

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID/Burma) is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement to implement the Strengthening Malaria Control for High-Risk Communities (SMCHC) Activity. The activity aims to reduce malaria morbidity and mortality in high-burden and hard-to-reach areas of Burma and Thailand by expanding access to malaria services, strengthening local health systems and capacity, and increasing demand for malaria prevention and treatment. Eligibility is not restricted, and applicants must submit concept applications by December 6, 2024, which will undergo merit review. Successful applicants will then participate in a co-creation process with USAID before submitting a full technical and cost application.

USAID intends to provide up to $18 million in total funding over a 5-year period and plans to make one award. The activity will focus on 15 target townships located in Tanintharyi, Mon, Kayin, Kayah, Kachin, and South Shan regions/states of Myanmar, with the potential to expand geographically. Local organizations based in Myanmar or Thailand are eligible, and sub-sub-recipients are allowed, with 70% of the award budget dedicated to local partners for subawards.
