About this opportunity

The Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Coast Guard is offering the State Recreational Boating Safety (RBS) Grant Program, a cooperative agreement to provide funding to eligible state authorities or agencies for the development and implementation of recreational boating safety programs. The program aims to positively influence boater behavior, support manufacturing standards, and leverage boating data to reduce accidents, injuries, and fatalities on waterways. Applicants must submit a program narrative, budget, equipment list, and relevant assurance forms by the September 30, 2024 deadline. Applications will be reviewed for financial integrity and programmatic approval before award documents are issued, with the anticipated award date no later than March 31, 2025.

The total available funding is $123,905,473, with the federal share not exceeding 50% of total program costs. The period of performance runs from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. Allowable activities include pre-award costs, management and administrative costs, and indirect facilities and administrative costs related to the state's recreational boating safety initiatives.

Synopsis

Only the designated state authority or agency may apply for funding. Applications from organizations that are not approved will be rejected.
