About this opportunity
This State Pilot Program for Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women seeks to enhance flexibility in funds to support family-based substance use disorder treatment services for pregnant and postpartum women. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration invites other applicant types to address care continuum needs through new models. Applications are due by April 1, 2024 and will be evaluated based on supporting a coordinated, efficient state system managed by state substance use agencies.
The program is assigned under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Projects of Regional and National Significance, which aims to address priority substance abuse, prevention and mental health needs through grants. There is no specified award amount available and performance is expected within state substance use agencies to encourage new approaches and models of service delivery within state systems.
Synopsis
The purpose of this program is to: 1) advance family-based services for pregnant and postpartum women with a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder (SUD), emphasizing the treatment of opioid use disorders; (2) help state substance use agencies provide outpatient treatment and recovery support services for pregnant and postpartum women with SUD; and (3) promote a coordinated system of SUD care within each state.
