Synopsis
The purpose of STC Grants is to provide directed grant funding under the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Program and the Restoration and Enhancement Grant Program to certain states that lack intercity passenger rail service or are not connected to the national rail system. This NOFO makes available from the FY 2017, 2018, and 2019 Consolidated Appropriations Acts, $25,437,714 in directed funding for eligible rail capital projects, as follows: $988,000 for Alaska, $12,670,330 for South Dakota, and $11,779,384 for Wyoming.
Eligibility
The states of Alaska, South Dakota, and Wyoming are the only applicants allocated portions of the available funding for the directed grants under 49 U.S.C. 22907(l)(1) and (2). See Section C(3)(a) for project eligibility. The State Department of Transportation in these states must submit applications on behalf of their states.
