About this opportunity

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is offering the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program - Pathways (RCORP-Pathways) grant opportunity. The purpose is to create innovative new youth-focused behavioral health care support programs and career pathway opportunities in rural communities. The program has three main goals: establishing pathway programs to introduce youth to behavioral health careers, engaging youth to develop peer-driven behavioral health programming, and ensuring sustainability of these activities. Eligible applicants include state/local governments, tribal organizations, nonprofits, and educational institutions. Applications are due by April 14, 2025, and a technical assistance webinar will be held on March 19, 2025.

The RCORP-Pathways program will award up to 12 grants of up to $400,000 per year for three years, for a total of $4,800,000 in available funding. Recipients must collaborate with a network of at least four organizations, with 50% located in the rural service area. The first year may be used for planning, but implementation must begin by September 1, 2026. Recipients will be required to submit baseline data, participate in a learning collaborative, and conduct financial assessments for post-grant sustainability.

Goal 2: Engagement Engage youth to develop and implement peer-driven behavioral health programming in rural communities. Goal 3: Sustainability Develop innovative, multi-sectoral approaches to ensure the continued availability of RCORP-Pathways supported activities in the target rural service area.
