The Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) program is soliciting applications to support projects promoting rural economic development and job growth. Administered by the USDA Rural Housing Service, the RBDG will provide funding for technical assistance, revolving loan funds, feasibility studies and other services benefiting rural businesses. Eligible applicants include rural public entities, nonprofits, and federally recognized tribes. Applications will be evaluated based on job creation, community needs addressed, and leveraging of additional funds. The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2024, with award announcements starting May 31, 2024.
Individual awards may not exceed $500,000 and will fund work conducted in rural areas as defined by applicable program regulations. It is expected that approximately $37 million total will be made available nationwide through the RBDG program to support business development projects located in rural communities.
