About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is soliciting cooperative agreement applications to fund injury and violence prevention initiatives through September 30, 2030, with eligible applicants limited to state governments, territorial governments, local governments, and their bona fide agents, with only one application funded per state or territory.
Applicants must have access to state or territory-wide data sources. Awards provide a 12-month initial budget period with a performance period of up to five years, subject to fund availability and satisfactory recipient progress. Annual award amounts typically range from $100,000 to $700,000. No cost share is required.
The program funds child abuse prevention, sexual violence prevention, firearm-related violence reduction, overdose prevention, and related injury and violence control research and implementation activities. Applications undergo a two-phase review process. Phase I evaluates eligibility and completeness; Phase II applies a review panel to assess approach, evaluation and performance measurement, and the applicant's organizational capacity to implement the proposed strategy. Applicants not meeting eligibility or submission requirements will be notified electronically within thirty days of Phase II review completion.
Recipients are subject to federal inspection and audits with a three-year record retention requirement. Non-competitive continuation awards are available based on satisfactory progress documentation and federal determination that continued funding serves the government's best interest.
The program is funded under CFDA 93.136, Injury Prevention and Control Research and State and Community Based Programs.
