About this opportunity
The Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration seeks applicants for Rapid Reskill Employment Recovery National Dislocated Worker Grants, with an application deadline of August 3, 2026, and approximately $50 million available in awards ranging from $2 million to $8 million per grant.
Eligible applicants include state workforce agencies, local workforce development boards, entities eligible for WIOA Section 166(c) Indian and Native American program funding, entities determined appropriate by the governor, and entities demonstrating capability to the Secretary of Labor to respond to worker dislocations. No cost share is required. The qualifying dislocation event is broad economic transformation driven by artificial intelligence affecting workers across the entire United States.
All projects must incorporate required core elements: rapid engagement and enrollment within 30 days of dislocation, individualized reemployment plans, short-term intensive training, and rapid placement in employment or paid work-based learning within six months of enrollment. Encouraged activities include relocation support, employer contributions and formal commitments, career coaching, needs-related payments, AI skills development, and novel uses of AI and emerging technologies.
The performance period is 36 months with administrative costs capped at 10 percent of the total award. Grantees must report performance data through the WIPS system, including employment rates, median earnings, credential attainment, and earnings change metrics, and must participate in a DOL evaluation. Award decisions are expected by September 30, 2026.
Applications must be submitted through Grants.gov with required federal forms (SF-424, SF-424A), budget narrative, and detailed project description not exceeding 25 pages total. This grant operates under CFDA 17.277 (WIOA National Dislocated Worker Grants / WIA National Emergency Grants).
