About this opportunity
The OJJDP FY24 Second Chance Act Youth Reentry Program seeks applicants to address and improve reentry and recidivism challenges encountered by youth returning to juvenile residential or correctional facilities. Eligible applicants include state and local governments, and nonprofit organizations. Applications should describe comprehensive and collaborative strategies that address the criminogenic and social needs of youth. Proposed programs will be evaluated based on plans to achieve long-term reductions in recidivism through coordinated services including mentoring, substance abuse treatment, education, and employment assistance. Applications are due April 15, 2024.
This program is funded through the Department of Justice's Second Chance Act Reentry Initiative and seeks to support post-release planning, implementation, and coordination services for juvenile offenders returning to the community. Successful applicants can receive awards up to $750,000 to implement two-year programs in areas that experience high rates of juvenile recidivism and reincarceration.
Synopsis
With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to address and improve the reentry and recidivism challenges encountered by youth returning to their communities from juvenile residential or correctional facilities.
