The grant opportunity targets local government agencies, utilities, hospitals, health centers, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations in American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Freely Associated States. The primary objectives include maintenance training to extend infrastructure life, ensure technician safety, increase infrastructure capacity, and promote economic growth, with a specific focus on protecting infrastructure from tropical weather impacts. The application deadline is August 15, 2025, with an anticipated project period from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2029.

The total estimated program funding is $4,375,000, with approximately 20 expected awards and a maximum individual award ceiling of $350,000 per grant. The program will fund projects that strengthen disaster planning, support education and training, boost energy production, safeguard natural resources, and enhance public safety. Performance locations will be limited to the specified insular areas, with a project timeline spanning four years. Applicants must submit comprehensive documentation through Grants.gov, including detailed project narratives, budgets, and performance measures, while ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
