About this opportunity
The Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) is offering competitive grants through the Charter Schools Program (CSP) to enable charter school developers to open new charter schools or replicate and expand high-quality charter schools in states without an existing CSP State Entity grant. Eligible applicants are developers who have applied to an authorized public chartering authority to operate a charter school. The grants will be evaluated based on criteria such as project design, management plan, personnel, and continuation plan. Applications are due by June 30, 2025.
The grant awards are estimated to range from $250,000 to $400,000 per year, for a project period of up to 60 months. The Department expects to award 6-10 grants under this opportunity, with a total estimated funding of $5,000,000. The grants aim to support the opening, replication, and expansion of charter schools that provide innovative educational options for students, with an invitational priority for models focused on areas like classical education, STEM, career and technical education, or serving students with unique needs.
