About this opportunity

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering the Nonprofit Security Grant Program - National Security Supplemental (NSGP-NSS), which provides funding to nonprofit organizations at high risk of a terrorist or other extremist attack for facility hardening and other physical security enhancements and activities. The program aims to bolster nonprofit security and protect those organizations facing an elevated threat level due to the Israel-Hamas war. Eligible applicants can submit applications through the FEMA Grants Outcomes (GO) system by January 24, 2025, and applications will be evaluated based on factors such as risk assessment, proposed security investments, and project management approach. FEMA anticipates making funding selections by March 31, 2025 and awarding funds by May 10, 2025.

The NSGP-NSS provides $210 million in total funding, with eligible nonprofit organizations able to apply for up to $200,000 per site, and consortia of nonprofits able to apply for up to $1 million. The period of performance for awarded projects is 36 months, and the program is part of FEMA's broader efforts to enhance the ability of state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, as well as nonprofit organizations, to prevent, protect against, prepare for, and respond to terrorist or other extremist attacks.
