The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), under the Department of the Interior, is seeking applicants to host and serve as consortium partners for regional Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CASCs) in the Northeast, Pacific Islands, and South Central regions. The purpose is to provide science and technical support regarding the impact of climate change on natural and cultural resources. Eligible applicants include state, non-profit, local government, and academic institutions. Proposals are due by February 3, 2025, and the anticipated award date is June 30, 2025. The funding instrument is a cooperative agreement, with substantial USGS involvement expected.

The estimated total funding for the Northeast and South Central CASCs is $7,400,000 each, and $9,250,000 for the Pacific Islands CASC, provided over 5 years. Up to 20% additional supplemental funding may also be available annually. The host institution will be the sole entity eligible to receive funding to conduct follow-on research and science projects through consortium partnerships.
