About this opportunity

The Department of Education is seeking applicants for a cooperative agreement to establish and operate a National Technical Assistance Center to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs), and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) in improving or developing high-quality degree or certification programs to prepare personnel, including those who are multilingual and from diverse backgrounds, to serve children with disabilities. The Center must achieve outcomes such as improving the capacity of these institutions to develop high-quality programs, increasing the number that apply for and receive federal grants to prepare personnel, and increasing collaboration and mentorship among faculty. Applications are due by August 12, 2024, with an intergovernmental review deadline of August 26, 2024.

The Department intends to award up to $1,500,000 for a single budget period of 12 months, and may make additional awards in FY 2025 from the list of unfunded applications. This opportunity is authorized under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and is part of the Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities program.
