About this opportunity

The Health Resources and Services Administration is seeking applications for the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Other Related Disabilities (LEND) program with an application due date of July 10, 2026, offering approximately $38.3 million across 60 grants structured in four funding tiers.

Eligible applicants include public and nonprofit agencies, institutions of higher education (public and private), state and local governments, and Native American tribal organizations. New applicants may apply only for Tier 1 funding (up to $460,000 per year), while competing continuation applicants may apply for Tier 1 through Tier 4 (up to $734,000 per year). Two optional supplements are available: the LEND Pediatric Audiology Trainee supplement (up to $150,000 per year for up to 12 awards) and the LEND Emerging Issues supplement (up to $50,000 one-time).

The program trains health and related professionals across more than 30 disciplines to screen, diagnose, and provide services for children and youth with autism and developmental disabilities throughout the lifespan. Required activities include recruitment of trainees from approved disciplines, inclusion of individuals with lived experience (family members and individuals with disabilities), provision of continuing education and technical assistance, and participation in program evaluation.

The period of performance extends from September 30, 2026, through June 30, 2031. Merit review scoring encompasses six criteria weighted as follows: Need (10 points), Response (35 points), Performance Reporting and Evaluation (15 points), Impact (10 points), Resources and Capabilities (20 points), and Support Requested (10 points). The expected award date is September 30, 2026.

The opportunity is funded under the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support program (CFDA 93.877). A recorded technical assistance webinar is available through Grants.gov. Questions should be directed to the Maternal and Child Health Bureau at mchblendnofo@hrsa.gov.
