About this opportunity

The Department of Labor's Women's Bureau is seeking nonprofit organizations to provide technical assistance (TA) to employers and labor unions through the FY25 Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) Technical Assistance Grant Program. The program aims to encourage women's employment in apprenticeable and nontraditional occupations (A/NTO) across industries like advanced manufacturing, construction, energy, healthcare, information technology, finance, and transportation. Applicants must focus on developing pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship training programs, creating supportive work environments, and establishing support networks for women. The evaluation will prioritize organizations with experience as equity intermediaries and those targeting historically underrepresented communities, including women of color, women with disabilities, low-income women, and women from rural areas. The application deadline is August 8, 2025, with applications to be submitted electronically through Grants.gov.

The grant program will award approximately $5,000,000 across 6-14 community-based organizations, with individual grants ranging from $350,000 to $750,000. The performance period will span 24 months, beginning September 30, 2025. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations with demonstrated experience in training women for apprenticeable or nontraditional occupations. The grants will support technical assistance activities nationwide, including in U.S. territories, with a focus on expanding women's participation in industries where they have been historically underrepresented.
