About this opportunity
This cooperative agreement opportunity from the Bureau of Land Management seeks proposals for aquatic resource management projects supporting the Department of the Interior's 15.244 Aquatic Resources Management grant program. Eligible applicants including state, local, and tribal governments, public universities, and nonprofit organizations are invited to propose inventorying, assessing, protecting, restoring, or sustainably managing water resources and aquatic habitats on public lands. Proposals are due January 19, 2024 and will be evaluated based on addressing climate change impacts, habitat restoration, or decision-making tools to inform land management. Total available funding amounts to $1,000,000 to be awarded across three to five cooperative agreements ranging from $100,000 to $500,000 each over one to five years, with priority given to projects directly benefiting the Bureau's stewardship of aquatic ecosystems while also advancing administration priorities in climate action, environmental justice, and clean energy.
Anticipated places of performance for selected projects are aquatic habitats located on public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management nationwide. Funded work must be completed within proposed periods of performance not exceeding five years and directly benefit the Bureau's multiple use mission and aquatic resource programs.
