About this opportunity
The Bureau of Land Management seeks applications for its FY24 Aquatic Resource Management Program to support projects that protect and restore riparian habitats, wetlands, aquatic ecosystems and water resources on public lands. Eligible applicants include tribal, state, and local governments, higher education institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Proposals are due April 15, 2024 and will be evaluated based on technical approach, qualifications, public benefits provided, and alignment with program objectives to ensure water availability and restore degraded aquatic resources. Key review criteria include an applicant's technical approach, qualifications, public benefits and how well a proposal aligns with the program's objectives to ensure water availability and restore degraded aquatic resources on Bureau of Land Management lands.
Awards will range from $10,000 to $500,000 for one to five year project periods, with up to $999,000 total available. Funded projects will advance the Interior Department's priorities and the Biden-Harris Administration's goals in areas like climate action, environmental justice, and pandemic recovery, and will support activities such as gill netting, tagging endangered whale species, and producing educational pamphlets to achieve aquatic habitat conservation, restoration, and resource management objectives on Bureau of Land Management lands in Colorado.
