About this opportunity
The FY24 - Corridor Identification and Development (Corridor ID) Program - Texas High-Speed Rail Corridor Step 3 is a federal grant opportunity administered by the Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration. This program is intended to support the development of proposals for new or improved intercity passenger rail services throughout the United States, with a specific focus on creating a pipeline of intercity passenger rail projects ready for implementation. The program is seeking applications for planning studies and capital projects to expand and improve intercity passenger rail service in the Texas high-speed rail corridor. The key evaluation criteria will be the applicant's ability to advance intercity passenger rail development, and the application deadline is August 2, 2024.
Recent Federal Grant Awards under the Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail program, which this opportunity falls under, have ranged from $500,000 to over $750 million, with project durations spanning one to seven years. The place of performance for this opportunity would be the Texas high-speed rail corridor.
Synopsis
The Corridor Identification and Development (Corridor ID) Program is a comprehensive intercity passenger rail planning and development program that will help guide intercity passenger rail development throughout the country and create a pipeline of intercity passenger rail projects ready for implementation. Unlike previous Federal intercity passenger rail planning efforts, the Corridor ID Program is intended both to support a sustained long-term development effort, and to set forth a capital project pipeline ready for Federal (and other) funding. The Corridor ID Program is intended to become the primary means for directing Federal financial support and technical assistance toward the development of proposals for new or improved intercity passenger rail services throughout the United States.
