About this opportunity
The FY2025 Historic Preservation Fund - Save America's Treasures Collection Grants program, administered by the National Park Service in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, and Institute of Museum and Library Services, provides preservation and conservation assistance to nationally significant historic collections held by museums, libraries, archives, and other collecting institutions. Eligible applicants include state and local governments, federally recognized and non-federally recognized tribal organizations, 501(c)(3) and non-501(c)(3) nonprofits, special district governments, public and private institutions of higher education, and county governments. The program requires a dollar-for-dollar non-Federal cost match (50% of total project cost), which may be provided as cash or documented in-kind contributions, with administrative costs capped at 25% of the total project cost. Applications will be evaluated on four equally weighted merit criteria (25 points each): National Significance, Severity of Threat to Resource, Mitigation of Threat, and Feasibility. All applications must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov by June 16, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET, with successful applicants notified approximately six months after the deadline.
The program will distribute approximately $25,500,000 in total funding across approximately 50 awards, with individual grants ranging from a minimum of $25,000 to a maximum of $750,000 per award. Projects funded under this opportunity are anticipated to begin January 1, 2027 and conclude by December 31, 2029. All funded projects must comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Historic Preservation.
