About this opportunity

The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is soliciting applications for the FY 2025 High Priority-Commercial Motor Vehicle (HP-CMV) grant program. The program aims to support activities that reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving commercial motor vehicles through enforcement, compliance, public awareness, and innovative technology projects. Eligible applicants include state agencies, local governments, tribal governments, institutions of higher education, and non-profit organizations. Key priorities include enforcement in high-crash areas, work zone safety, rural road safety, passenger carrier safety, human trafficking prevention, drug interdiction, and new technology implementation. Applications are due by March 7, 2025, and must include a detailed budget narrative and Title VI compliance plan.

FMCSA anticipates awarding approximately $46,626,614 combined under the HP-CMV and HP-Innovative Technology Deployment (HP-ITD) programs, with individual HP-CMV awards limited to $2 million. The program operates under CFDA 20.237 and does not require matching funds for FY2025. Successful applicants will be reimbursed for actual costs incurred under approved project activities.
