About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration (ETA) is seeking applications from State Workforce Agencies for Fiscal Year 2024 Unemployment Insurance (UI) Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) grants. The grants will provide funding for states to continue or implement a RESEA program, which aims to help UI claimants return to work through assessments, referrals to reemployment services, and eligibility reviews. The grant application, known as a RESEA State Plan, must be submitted by April 8, 2024 and include details on the state's claimant selection process, notification procedures, service delivery, and how the proposed activities will meet the statutory purposes of the RESEA program.
The RESEA grants are funded under the Unemployment Insurance (CFDA 17.225) federal grant program. Each state has a maximum base award amount, and states may request a lesser amount based on their capacity and projected need. Funding can be used for a variety of allowable cost categories, and states must dedicate at least 25% of grant funds to interventions with moderate or high causal evidence for improving employment outcomes.
Synopsis
To provide guidelines for the FY 2024 UI RESEA grants and to invite State Workforce Agencies to submit a RESEA State Plan. States requesting funding to continue a current RESEA program or to implement a new RESEA program during FY 2024 must submit a RESEA State Plan. The submission must contain all required information described in this UIPL and be submitted by April 8, 2024.
