About this opportunity

This opportunity provides planning grants to tribal organizations seeking to develop AmeriCorps programs. Administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service, tribal organizations may apply for up to $240,000 to fund a 12-month planning period. Applications are due April 5, 2024 and will be evaluated based on program design, organizational capability, and cost effectiveness with consideration for rural and underserved communities. Notifications will be provided by the end of May 2024 with award issuance by the end of July 2024.

Successful applicants will work with an AmeriCorps program officer and are encouraged to apply for subsequent AmeriCorps funding to support implementation of member service programs addressing disaster services, economic opportunity, education, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, and veterans and military families. Planning grants must be used to develop an AmeriCorps program and may not support direct member activities.
