About this opportunity

The Fiscal Year 2025 State Fire Training Systems Grant, administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through the National Fire Academy, seeks to support state fire service training agencies by providing funding for delivering government-sponsored fire and emergency response training courses. Eligible applicants are state fire training offices designated by state legislation or governor's declaration, with the primary objective of supporting the direct delivery of National Fire Academy-developed courses, distributing course materials, and tailoring training programs to state-specific needs. Key requirements include submitting student data, managing student admissions, and potentially accommodating program manager course reviews to maintain academic integrity. Applicants must apply through the FEMA Grants Outcomes (GO) system and comply with federal regulations regarding procurement, record-keeping, and reporting. The application period runs from August 1-15, 2025, with anticipated award selections scheduled for August 29, 2025.

The grant provides up to $20,000 to each of 50 state fire training systems, with funds designated for course delivery costs such as instructor expenses, printing materials, and classroom facilities. The performance period for the grant is from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026. Recipients are prohibited from using the funds to purchase computers or equipment. The grant aims to enhance professional development and training capabilities for fire and emergency response personnel by supporting state-level training infrastructure and program delivery. All applicants must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) and submit their applications electronically through the FEMA GO system.
