About this opportunity
The Fiscal Year 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program is seeking applicants to enhance firefighter safety and emergency response. Administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the program will provide up to $324 million to eligible fire departments, nonaffiliated emergency medical service organizations, and state fire training academies to equip first responders, modify facilities, acquire vehicles and equipment, and conduct training programs. Applications will be accepted from January 29, 2024 through March 8, 2024 and will be evaluated based on need, benefits to communities' resilience, and operational improvements. Awards are expected to be announced starting April 30, 2024, with funded projects to be completed within 24 months.
