An additional $1.5 million will fund optional innovation projects of up to $75,000 each to 20 recipients to build data and measurement capacity. Applicable states, territories, and organizations must submit applications by November 6, 2023, to be eligible for funding from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2029.

This addendum clarifies website accessibility requirements for recipients of the HRSA-24-036 Early Hearing Detection and Intervention State/Territory Program NOFO. Recipients must develop, maintain, and promote a publicly accessible website, but should ensure accessibility according to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act rather than Section 508 as originally stated. The HRSA-24-036 NOFO provides funding through the 93.251 - Early Hearing Detection and Intervention federal grant program, administered by the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration, to support recipients in establishing and operating statewide newborn and infant hearing screening, evaluation, and intervention programs and systems to help identify and treat hearing loss among infants and young children.

This notice announces a funding opportunity through the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention State/Territory Program. The period of performance is 5 years from April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2029. Applications are due November 6, 2023. Funding will support activities to strengthen data systems, engage stakeholders, provide family support services, educate providers, and ensure infants receive recommended hearing screenings, diagnoses and early interventions. Recipients will collect and report on program objectives and benchmarks.
