The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Employment and Training Administration (ETA) is offering the DOL Building Pathways to Infrastructure Jobs Grant Program to fund public-private partnerships that develop, implement, and scale worker-centered sector strategy training programs. The purpose is to prepare a skilled workforce to meet the workforce demands of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law investments in advanced manufacturing, information technology, and professional, scientific, and technical services occupations supporting renewable energy, transportation, and broadband infrastructure sectors. Applicants must choose either a Development Track to establish local/regional worker-centered sector training programs, or a Scaling Track to expand effective existing programs. All programs must incorporate core principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility; career pathways to middle- to high-skilled jobs; and worker-centered strategies.

Approximately $80 million is available for 15-25 grants in the first round, with individual grant amounts ranging from $500,000 to $5 million depending on the track. A second round of approximately $35 million will open for applications from May 15 to July 1, 2024, with a 60-month period of performance and an anticipated start date of October 1, 2024. Eligible lead applicants include non-profit organizations, labor unions, workforce development entities, education/training providers, economic development agencies, tribal governments, and state/local governments.
