About this opportunity

This notice announces a competitive grants program from the Environmental Protection Agency to fund implementation of greenhouse gas reduction measures identified in Climate Pollution Reduction Grants program plans. Eligible applicants include federally recognized tribes, tribal consortia, and U.S. territories that received CPRG planning grants, as well as their subdivisions and agencies seeking to implement approved measures. The EPA seeks to award approximately 25 to 100 grants totaling $300 million to tribes and territories to achieve significant emission reductions from 2025 through 2030 and beyond in sectors such as transportation, electricity generation, buildings, and waste management. Applications are due May 1, 2024 and will be evaluated based on emission impact, cost effectiveness, community benefits, and programmatic capability.

Grants will range from $1 million to $25 million for individual applicants or coalitions and support workplans for up to five years. Successful proposals will fund concrete measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions corresponding to approved climate action plans and report on progress toward quantifiable outputs and outcomes. The program falls under the Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Pollution Reduction Grants program (Assistance Listing Number 66.046).
