EPA plans to award up to three cooperative agreements under this Request for Applications (RFA), one for each Activity described in detail. The total estimated funding available is $96,000,000, including $21,000,000 for Year 1, and up to $25,000,000 for Years 2-4. The maximum available funding per Activity is detailed in the chart below.
This RFA is seeking cost-effective proposals from eligible applicants to support the following activities:
1. The Community Capacity Building - Small Watershed Grants (CCB SWG) Program builds the capacity of frontline organizations working collaboratively on community and watershed health goals;
2. The Planning, Assistance and Implementation - Small Watershed Grants (PAI SWG) Program promotes community-based efforts to develop and implement conservation strategies to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed that support all the goals and outcomes of the 2014 Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement and any future watershed agreements; and
3. The Innovative Nutrient and Sediment Reduction (INSR) Grants Program supports efforts within the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed that use innovative strategies to vastly accelerate sub-watershed and/or regional-scale implementation of nutrient and sediment reductions with approaches demonstrated to be successful.
The successful applicants selected under this RFA will coordinate with the successful applicants selected under RFA EPA-R3-CBP-23-14 to ensure maximum effectiveness of the SWG and INSR grant programs. Applicants may apply for funding under both RFAs but must do so through separate applications.
