About this opportunity
This is a non-competitive solicitation from the Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) seeking applications from 10 cooperative agreement recipients that have been previously funded to support national-level corrections, reentry, and/or justice reform efforts. The funded projects will further the Department's mission by reforming and strengthening the criminal and juvenile justice systems, expanding equal access to justice, and maintaining a safe and humane prison system. Key focus areas include expanding tribal court capacity, implementing alternative sentencing and rehabilitation programs, enhancing probation and reentry services, and providing culturally appropriate treatment and support services. Applicants must have prior experience in these areas to be eligible. The application is due September 19, 2024.
Recent BJA grant awards under related programs have ranged from approximately $150,000 to $4.5 million, with most in the $50,000 to $900,000 range and typical performance periods of 1-5 years. The funded work will primarily take place on tribal lands and in tribal communities across the United States to improve public safety, reduce recidivism, and provide critical services and support for incarcerated individuals and their reintegration.
Synopsis
With this non-competitive solicitation, BJA seeks to request applications from 10 cooperative agreement recipients that have been previously funded to support national-level corrections, reentry, and/or justice reform efforts (CRJR). These projects have been funded to support state, local, tribal, and territorial criminal justice agencies, practitioners, and communities. These programs further the Department's mission/AG's priorities by reforming and strengthening the criminal and juvenile justice systems, expanding equal access to justice, and maintaining a safe and humane prison system.
