The Regional Agricultural Promotion Program is a cost share program offered by the United States Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service that will provide up to $300 million over five years through cooperative agreements. Eligible nonprofit agricultural trade organizations, state regional trade groups, cooperatives, and state agencies can apply to support market development activities that foster expanded exports and market diversification for U.S. agricultural commodities and products. Applicant organizations must submit proposals through the Unified Export Strategy system by February 2, 2024 and proposals will be evaluated based on strategic planning, program management and implementation capabilities, and past performance with priority given to organizations with broad industry representation.
Successful applicants will receive approval letters outlining approved activities and budgets and will be required to regularly report on expenses, contributions, and performance throughout the period of performance. Individual award values will vary depending on the proposed activities but are intended to reimburse eligible organizations for conducting approved market development activities with an expectation that activities will take place both domestically and abroad.
