The Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command Redstone Arsenal is soliciting for a one-year Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) for Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) located at the Corpus Christi Army Depot. This procurement is issued as a noncompetitive action under FAR Part 12 and 13, with Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions LLC identified as the intended source due to its exclusive ownership of the proprietary software rights. The contract requires comprehensive software maintenance, support, patches, and upgrades for the CMM equipment used in aeronautical aircraft component manufacturing. The evaluation will consider capability statements, proposals, or quotations from all responsible sources willing to submit, with the contract to be awarded as a Fixed Price agreement. The offer due date is November 4, 2025, at 2:30 PM, with the performance period commencing November 14, 2025, and concluding November 13, 2026.
This procurement is not set aside for any socioeconomic category and is a sole-source action since Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions LLC is the only vendor capable of providing the required proprietary software maintenance. The estimated contract value is approximately $350,000 per machine, with funding provided through Operations & Maintenance Army (OMA) and Army Capital Working Funds for fiscal year 2026. No option periods are included in this contract action, and the current maintenance agreement with the incumbent contractor expires on October 11, 2025. Market research confirmed that no alternative vendors or distribution channels exist for this specialized equipment maintenance. The contract will be administered and inspected at the U.S. Army Depot facility in Corpus Christi, Texas 78419, where the coordinate measuring machines are physically located and will require on-site support services.
