About this opportunity

The Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, New York is seeking to procure labor and materials for the furnishing, installation, and reworking of security and entrance doors at three distinct locations within the facility: 8C, 9D, and 10C. The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 is executing this procurement under NAICS code 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) and PSC code Z1DA (Maintenance of Hospitals and Infirmaries). The scope of work includes installing new gypsum wall board with swinging wood double doors and access control at location 8C, relocating and completing a storefront door system at 9D, and modifying an existing storefront door with new window film and opposite swing configuration at 10C. While the pre-solicitation notice does not explicitly detail evaluation criteria, contractors should anticipate standard construction quality, compliance, and cost considerations typical of federal construction projects. The formal solicitation is scheduled to be posted on or about December 2, 2025, with interested parties directed to monitor beta.SAM.gov for detailed specifications, drawings, and contract forms, with questions directed to Terry Fraser at terry.fraser@va.gov.

This procurement is designated as a 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), restricting competition to qualifying firms within this category. No incumbent contractor information is identified in the pre-solicitation materials. The contract award value is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000, placing it within the mid-range construction magnitude category under FAR Part 36.204, with the small business standard threshold established at $45.0 Million. The three-location door installation project represents a discrete, non-emergency maintenance initiative for the Albany facility. Prospective bidders should note that all solicitation materials will be available exclusively in electronic format on beta.SAM.gov, and the December 2, 2025 posting date marks the critical timeline for submission preparation and review.
